About

I’m Ella, an aspiring motorsport journalist and photographer.

I’ve just finished a masters in broadcast journalism after completing my undergraduate degree in criminology (weird combination I know)!

I studied both of my degrees in Nottingham but I’m originally from Kent, where I’ve lived for all 22 years of my life.

I’ve started The Ella Edit as a way for me to showcase all of my passions, whether I want to yap about a weird situation I’ve found myself in or if I need to get my thoughts out on a controversial grand prix – you’ll find it here.

A bit more about Ella

I have always been a creative girl, even when I was in primary school English was my favourite subject and nothing had me more focused than a good book.

But as I grew I was confronted with the realisation that creativity wasn’t always the way to go, and even though I loved drama, art, music and writing, so did a lot of people and maybe it wasn’t the most reliable career. So I changed.

I went for a more academic route with my undergraduate degree. Criminology was fun and it definitely provoked new thoughts for me. In the back of my mind, I still had that itch for creativity. So I joined my student paper The Nottingham Tab and my uni’s radio society.

It was this move that made me remember how much I loved writing and being creative. So I did my masters course and here we are.

Somewhere in all of this I started watching Formula 1. I fell in love with it and after some time I joined Silverstone as a Race Maker for all the events.

I’m always looking for something new to do.

I’ve worked to gain opportunities like an experience day working with Fern GP to be around sport more and take more cool pictures. But that wasn’t enough for me which is one of the reasons I started The Ella Edit.
